Refund & Return Policy

At Love Local Products / M & N Apothecary, we want you to love every item you purchase. Our products are curated from trusted Canadian brands that share our values of quality, sustainability, and care. If something isn’t quite right, we’ll do our best to make it right for you.


Returns

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for most unopened and unused items.
To be eligible for a return, your item must:

  • Be in its original packaging, unused, and in the same condition that you received it.

  • Include the receipt or proof of purchase.

Some items are final sale for hygienic or safety reasons (such as skincare, personal care, and food items). These products will be clearly marked as Final Sale on their product page.

If you are unsure whether your product is eligible, please email us before returning it.


Return Process

To start a return, please contact us at products@lovelocalproducts.com.
Once your return is approved, you will receive detailed instructions for shipping or in-person return at our Hudson store.

Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the product arrived damaged or in error.


Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you by email.
Approved refunds will be issued to your original method of payment within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or credit card provider.

Shipping fees are non-refundable.


Exchanges

We are happy to offer exchanges for defective or damaged items.
Please contact us at products@lovelocalproducts.com within 7 days of delivery, and include a clear photo of the issue so we can assist promptly.


Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled within 12 hours of placement, as long as the order has not yet shipped.
Please email us immediately at products@lovelocalproducts.com if you need to cancel.

Returns for Canadian Customers

Return Window

Canadian customers may return items within 30 days of receiving their order, provided the items are in the same condition as received—unused, with tags, and in their original packaging. You’ll also need to provide proof of purchase (e.g., a receipt).

How to Start a Return

To initiate a return, please contact us at products@lovelocalproducts.com. If your return is accepted, we will send you a return shipping label along with instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Exceptions & Non-Returnable Items

Sale items, gift cards, perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), personal care items (such as beauty products), hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases cannot be returned. Please reach out if you have any questions about a specific product.

Returns for USA Customers

Unfortunately, due to significant shipping costs and customs duties, we are unable to accept returns from USA customers at this time. We appreciate your understanding.

Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us within 3 days if the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exchanges

Defective or Incorrect Items: If you received a defective or incorrect item, contact us within 3 days of receiving your order, and we will work to resolve the issue without requiring a return.

General Exchanges: The fastest way to get the item you want is to return the product you have (if eligible for return) and make a separate purchase for the new item. Once the return is accepted, we will process your refund as soon as possible.

Refunds

Approval Process: We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved. If approved, you will be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please note, it may take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

Final Sale Items

Items marked as “Final Sale” cannot be returned or exchanged. Please check product descriptions carefully before making a purchase.

Missing Packages (Canada Only)

If your domestic package (within Canada) is missing, we will assist in investigating the issue. The following criteria must be met to start an investigation:

  • The claim must be initiated within 90 days of the shipping date.
  • The expected delivery date must have passed, and the package must not have been delivered.

What You'll Need for an Investigation

  • The tracking number of the missing package
  • The sender’s name and address
  • The main contact person’s name and contact information
  • The receiver's name, address, and contact information
  • The amount of additional insurance coverage purchased
  • A description of the contents of the package
  • The last date the sender was in contact with the receiver
  • (Sender) Contacted the receiver to confirm non-receipt

We may ask for additional information such as proof of payment or the item’s value as part of the investigation, but it’s not required to start the process.
