More than 25 years ago, Margaret and Nancy met in the corporate world—two creative spirits with different strengths and the same drive to make a difference. What began as a friendship evolved into a shared passion: building a space that celebrates quality, kindness, and craftsmanship.
That passion became Love Local Products / M & N Apothecary, a boutique and online marketplace that shines a light on Canadian-made, responsibly sourced, small-batch beauty, lifestyle, and wellness products.
Meet the Founders
🌿 Margaret
With more than 30 years of retail experience in multinational organizations—many at the executive level—Margaret is a natural merchant with an eye for exceptional product design. Her true passion lies in discovering beautiful, purposeful goods and connecting people through the stories behind them.
Her mantra, “Believe in Kindness,” guides everything she does. At Love Local Products, she brings together her expertise in retail, wholesale, and franchising to create a shopping experience that’s thoughtful, transparent, and community-driven.
When she’s not curating new finds for the shop, you’ll find her connecting with Canadian makers, scouting emerging trends, or dreaming up the next local collaboration over a great cup of coffee.
🎨 Nancy
Nancy is the artistic and branding force behind Love Local Products. With over 25 years in design and creative direction—including product development for national bath & body brands—she brings a refined creative vision and love for storytelling to every corner of the business.
After transitioning from commercial design to a full-time fine-arts career, Nancy founded her own gallery and continues to exhibit her textured, nature-inspired paintings across Canada. Her creativity fuels the brand’s signature aesthetic and the way every product is presented: artfully, intentionally, and from the heart.
For Nancy, Love Local Products is more than a boutique—it’s a way to honour local makers, elevate design, and celebrate the beauty of living kindly and consciously.
